English overview
Martin Luther (10 November 1483 – 18 February 1546) was a Wittenberg theologian and professor. The 1517 theses and later disputes shaped a Reformation process he did not control and did not initially set out to divide the church.
He is not the sole founder of Protestantism; the Castle Church-door story remains debated, not settled fact. His later writings include virulently anti-Jewish polemic, which must be acknowledged without excuse or sensationalism. Do not make unsupported universal claims about later Christian reception.
